Suburban Dark have gone from leaps to bounds with the release of their debut LP ‘Second Front’. Featuring the majority of the Big Village roster on vocals, but focusing throughout on the twisted vocals of Jeswon (Thundamentals), with the first 2 singles ‘Skelletonne’ and ‘Mind Reader’ both receiving triple J play on high rotation. ‘Second Front’ has a diverse range of tracks from spine chilling noise to straight up bass assaulting bangers. The album is a dark, eclectic collection of rap tracks and instrumentals: a calculated departure from previous Big Village releases and a break from the ‘feel good’ sound of most mainstream Australian Hip Hop. This is definitely not a show to be missed.
Reverse Polarities are a Sydney based Hip Hop crew, renowned for politically charged lyrics, rapid fire rhymes and high energy live shows. Formed back in 2005, RP were quick to make an impact on audiences, performing countless gigs and cementing there name firmly as an act to keep an eye out for. In 2008 the crew’s members P.Smurf, Mikoen, Mute MC and Kit Complete traversed a short hiatus to form groups such as Daily Meds, Mute X Roleo and Sweat Collectors. In late 2011 they reunited to create what is now officially the group’s debut album ‘On The Contrary’. The album is an excellent display of passionate music directed at making a change for the better within our community, while not failing to engross, entertain and liven up listeners.
One third of Loose Change, captain of Sketch the Rhyme and label manager of Big Village Records, Rapaport will not disappoint. With a swag of festival appearances under his belt including Edinburgh Fringe, Woodford and Peats Ridge, Rapaport is no stranger to a microphone.
He is a unique MC in the Australian Hip Hop landscape with a flavour for UK based beats and an ability to get you up on your feet and partying.
Rounding out the bill we have young guns Tenth Dan & Grub, who are set to release their debut EP in 2014 through Big Village. The outfit includes Roleo from Daily Meds, Klue from True Vibenation and DJ Migz on the decks. Filled with big beats, baller rhymes and bursting with bags of goodies, this is one Xmas party you won’t want to miss.
Includes immediate download of Drug Store ft. Tenth Dan in your choice of high-quality MP3, FLAC, or just about any other format you could possibly desire.
Tickets available on the door or from the Big Village website.
